Our Team

Jonathan Anders

Jonathan Anders is a board certified North Carolina workers’ compensation defense attorney.  He founded Anders Newton PLLC with his partner, Gregg Newton, in November of 2014, after more than 25 years of workers’ compensation litigation experience.

Jonathan concentrates his practice in the area of workers’ compensation defense, representing numerous North Carolina employers and workers’ compensation carriers at all levels of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, as well as before state trial and appellate courts.  While Jonathan specializes in cases involving traumatic workplace accidents and occupational diseases, he also helps his clients protect their workers’ compensation subrogation rights and assert their liens.

Jonathan routinely consults with his clients on claim handling strategy, exposure, and settlement value.  His clients appreciate his ability to effectively argue their position, resolve issues in dispute, and close files efficiently.    In addition to aggressively defending claims, Jonathan also specializes in drafting workers’ compensation settlement agreements and securing Industrial Commission approval.

Jonathan is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Campbell Law School where he was select to a national Moot Court team. A native of New Bern, North Carolina, Jonathan now lives in Chatham County on a 96-acre farm with his wife, daughter, son, and a full entourage of farm pets. When not waylaid by farm chores, Jonathan enjoys golf, fly fishing and hiking with his family.  Jonathan and his family regularly foster dogs through Best Friends Pet Adoption.
